Idag, tidigt på morgonen, fortsatte Assyrier Utan Gränser sin resa i Irak till provinsen Dohuk (Nohadra), som ligger ungefär 3 timmar från Ankawa. Väl på plats fick vi besöka vår lokala samarbetspartner, Assyrian Aid Society in Iraq (AAS-I) på deras huvudkontor. Där fick vi träffa och samtala med Ashur Sargon Eskrya som är ordförande för AAS-I samt andra volontärer och medarbetare från organisationen.
Därefter åkte vi vidare till en flyktingförläggning kallad Odrana Camp som finansieras och drivs av AAS-I. Assyrier Utan Gränser delade ut julklappar till barn mellan 6-12 år med hjälp av AAS-I. Efter julklappsutdelningen, som köptes in genom Assyrier Utan Gränsers julgåvor, delades gosedjur ut till de yngre barnen. Dessa är de gosedjur som samlades in tidigare denna vecka i Södertälje. Sedan utdelades även tandborstar, donerade av Humble Brush samt nappar och matchtröjor av Assyriska FF. Slutligen fick barnen också matchtröjor och shorts donerade av Hammarby Fotboll.
Vi vill rikta ett stort tack till alla er som tog er tid att donera gosedjur och till alla våra månadsgivare och medlemmar som gjort detta möjligt. Sedan vill vi även tacka företaget Humble Brush som donerat 1200 tandborstar. Kvarvarande tandborstar kommer att delas ut senare i veckan till andra barn som lever i andra flyktingförläggning.

ASSYRIANS WITHOUT BORDERS IN IRAQ
Earlier this morning, Assyrians Without Borders continued its journey through Iraq to the province of Dohuk (Nohadra), which is about 3 hours from Ankawa. When we arrived, we visiting our local partners, Assyrian Aid Society in Iraq (AAS-I) at their headquarters in Nohadra. There we met and talk to Ashur Sargon Eskrya who is the chairman of AAS-I and other volunteers and employees of the organization. Afterwards, we went to a refugee camp called Odrana Camp that is financed and run by AAS-I. Assyrians Without Borders distributed out Christmas gifts to children between the ages of 6-12 years with the help of AAS-I.
After handing out Christmas gifts, which were bought with the money brought in through Assyrians Without Borders Christmas gift campaign, we distributed stuffed animals to the younger children. These are the stuffed animals that were collected earlier this week in Södertalje, Sweden. Then we also distributed toothbrushes donated by Humble Brush and the children also received game jerseys (t-shirts) and shorts donated by the Swedish soccer team Hammarby IF. Finally, we also distributed pacifiers and game t-shirts donated the Swedish soccer team Assyriska FF.
We want to give a huge thank you to all of that who took the time to donate stuffed animals, and to all our monthly donors and members who made this possible. We also want to thank the company Humble Brush who donated 1,200 toothbrushes. Later on this week, more toothbrushes will be distributed to other children who live in refugee camps here in northern Iraq.
