Our partner organisations on the ground say that there is no confirmation that 50 men have been released nor that anyone has been executed yet. Assyrian organisations and religious leaders are in constant dialogue with Arab and Islamic leaders who mediate with ISIS. The exact number of captive is unknown but they are estimated between 250 and 300 women, children and men.

Rumours about the recent invasion of Qaraqosh are false. Qaraqosh’s inhabitants are displaced since last summer (2014) tells our partner organisation on the ground Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq.
